North Texas’ largest association of real estate agents has completed its move from its longtime office in Dallas to a new, larger building in Irving.
The MetroTex Association of Realtors celebrated the opening of its headquarters Monday along Kinwest Parkway, just south of Interstate 635. The organization, which has 27,000 members across the region, provides training courses, market research and the listing service used by agents. It is one of the largest associations of real estate agents in the nation.
In addition to the organization’s main offices, the 42,000-square-foot building includes an events space that can hold up to 320 people, meeting rooms, a retail store with supplies for agents and classrooms that will hold professional development courses.

“This new home will be a place where Realtors and our business partners gather to learn, to share and discuss new ideas; network. to become better leaders and mostly, to give their time for the betterment of the real estate industry,” said MetroTex CEO Janet Kane.
Founded in Dallas in 1917, MetroTex has been based in a two-story, 30,000-square-foot office building on Stemmons Freeway in Northwest Dallas since 1989. A Houston investor acquired the building in 2021, and it was put back on the market in August, a commercial real estate listing shows.

Planning for MetroTex’s new building began almost five years ago. The real estate trade association purchased the site in 2020, and construction began in May 2021. The project team included architecture firm Muckleroy & Falls, interior design firm Boka Powell and project manager The Projects Group.
The building was constructed on a 10-acre site with federally protected natural wetlands that can be seen from its outdoor patios.
“It’s amazing work that has been taking place, taking a piece of property that we had within our city and actually looking at how best to incorporate the building into the land, leaving so much of the land in the way it was meant to be, said Irving Major Rick Stopfer.
