BOXPARK has been one of London’s most popular food market brands in the past few years. Creating food halls in Shoreditch, Croydon and Wembley which combine diverse food offerings with independent retailers and unique events, BOXPARK has proven to be a hit with Londoners.

Now they are choosing to expand their operations outside the capital, and where have they chosen for their first venue outside of London?

The Baltic Triangle in Liverpool!

BOXPARK recently announced that their sixth site and the first BOXPARK-branded location outside of London will open in 2023 in the Cairns Brewery Village, located in the Baltic Triangle.

This site will transform a warehouse from the 1980s in the Canning Hall site into a stunning food hall featuring a large internal space, an internal mezzanine, and an outdoor terrace, that can hold up to 400 people inside with a further 200 outside.

The proposal includes plans to use the 15,806 sq. ft site to fit approximately 10 kitchen units, as well as three internal bars and more external ones. In addition, a 5,430 sq.ft external terrace will provide more space for al-fresco dining and intimate events.

This is just the latest addition to the Baltic Triangle’s thriving food and drink scene, which in recent years has become one of the city’s most popular locations. The Cains Brewery Village is already home to a wide range of eateries and bars such as the Peaky Blinders bar and the Baltic Market food market.

This is in addition to the broad variety of locations within the Brewery Village, such as the arcade video game ArCains

The Baltic Triangle has been transformed over the past few years from an urban wasteland between the city center and the waterfront into a thriving area of culture and commerce, which is especially popular with young professionals.

Over £128 million has been put into the Baltic Triangle to help encourage its regeneration over recent years, with a further £62 million on the way. this regeneration is also helping to power Liverpool’s thriving property marketthanks to the range of new build properties that have accompanied the regeneration.

The new Liverpool Baltic train station is due to open soon, which will help create better transportation links to the district. This is in addition to a brand new public park, Baltic Park, which will give residents of the Triangle fresh greenery and outdoor space.

Now the area is home to over 500 businesses employing around 3000 people, from a range of sectors. Several new-build housing developments have accompanied this wave of industry, and the Baltic Triangle has become one of the most popular areas of Liverpool for young professionals to live in.

There are plans in place to develop the Triangle to include enhanced connectivity with the rest of the city, and green zones to promote sustainability and secure the Baltic Triangle’s place as one of Liverpool’s busiest districts.

Many of Liverpool’s most popular locations and attractions can be found within the Baltic Triangle, such as Ghetto Golf and Camp & Furnace, which is helping to fuel the area’s popularity with younger people.

Add into this how close the Baltic Triangle is to the city center, and you can understand why the area is thriving right now.

BOXPARK Liverpool is just the latest in a long line of businesses to choose the Baltic Triangle as the area to expand their operations, thanks to how energetic the district is and the number of people who call it home.

This new food hall will bring around 150 jobs to Liverpool, and BOXPARK is set to work closely with Liverpool City Council to ensure local supply chain routes and recruitment from the nearby area.

Set to open in late 2023, the new development will champion local independent food outlets thanks to the fantastic opportunities it will offer. There will also be opportunities for local talent such as artists and musicians to have a platform to perform at BOXPARK, with the venue set to host events throughout the year once it opens.

All of these shows BOXPARK is just the latest in a long line of regeneration schemes transforming the Baltic Triangle into one of Liverpool’s trendiest areas.
