This week, a look back at four of our featured listings from six months ago focused on homes in Williamsburg, Park Slope, Crown Heights, and Boerum Hill. How did they fare?
There are only a handful of photos in the listing, but this Williamsburg wood frame has enough history behind it to make it an intriguing prospect. Despite changes to its exterior it is still possible to discern the Greek Revival colonnade row origins of 201 Richardson Street. The two-family sits back from the street and around the corner from the remnants of a once impressive row on Humboldt Street. This former House of the Day was taken off the market in January.
A co-op in one of Brooklyn’s most stored prewar buildings doesn’t come cheap, but this Classic Seven has the gracious floor plan and vintage details one would expect at 9 Prospect Park West. This eighth-floor unit has an intact floor plan, the original shows, with two large bedrooms, a maid’s room, butler’s pantry, and three bathrooms. The living room and dining room (labeled a bedroom on the listing’s floor plan) are connected via a large entry gallery. This former Co-op of the Day was taken off the market in December.
In Crown Heights South, an early 20th century bow-front house on Union Street is traditional in the front and modern in the back. An intact parlor, staircase, and woodwork contrast with an open plan dining area and kitchen. The single-family house has four bedrooms and two bathrooms, including one with mosaic tiles scattered with big blue dots. This former Open House Pick sold in January for $2.375 million, which was $120,000 under the asking price.
It is all classic Italianate details on the exterior, but this circa 1850s brick townhouse in Boerum Hill got a streamlined reno that includes a sinuous, modern stair. The single-family at 168 Bergen Street has four floors of living space, central air, a wine cellar, and a landscaped rear yard. This former House of the Day was taken off the market in December.
