Learn More About Historic Home Rehab Tax Credit Opportunities With a PLG Forum

Curious about what exactly a historic rehabilitation tax credit is and whether work on your home might qualify? The Prospect Lefferts Gardens Heritage Council is sponsoring a forum to share information about existing credits as well as New York State Senate Bill S293A. Longtime homeowners who face displacement because of gentrification will be eligible for the tax credit program if the bill passes.

The hybrid event will include presentations by New York State Senator Zellnor Myrie and Deputy Commissioners Daniel Mackay and Frances Stern from the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation. Homeowners will get full details on what historic properties are eligible, what type of rehab work qualifies for the program, and how to apply for the historic homeownership rehabilitation credit.

Homeowners can attend virtually or in person on Saturday, April 29 from 10:30 am until noon at the Crown Heights Library at 560 New York Avenue on the corner of Maple Street in PLG. The event is free, but registration is required. For more information on the event and to register, visit the online event page.
