“This lack of contact with family is unusual for Mr. Gritchin and sparked concern for his well-being,” Grandy said.

Police went to Gritchin’s home in Genelle — a small community between Castlegar and Trail — but could not locate him.

Gritchin’s gray 2018 Jeep Cherokee and his small dog Tessla were also missing.

Gritchin, a longtime realtor, was last seen in the 100-block of Columbia Avenue in Castlegar. Gritchin was known to travel with his dog on work and social trips.

Police believe Gritchin may have suffered a medical emergency.

Almost 10 years ago to the day, Gritchin was rescued by lifeguards at the Castlegar Aquatic Center after suffering a heart attack.
